This workshop is trimmed from the full Software Carpentry Intro to Git lesson. Because we have a computer lab with Git already available, we’re making a few preparatory steps simpler:

• Mark yourself off on the sign-in sheet at the front of the room.
• If you have Git on your own computer, feel free to use it.
• If you need a computer lab machine, log in using the guest user name and password next to your computer.
• If there aren’t two sticky notes by your computer, get one of each color.

Key Points

• Sticky notes are signals to the instructor(s) and helper(s) during the class.

• Blue-green is Yes / Good / Agree / I’m Caught Up.

• Orange is No / Alert / Disagree / I Need Help.
